The Marvel Universe is about to get a double dose of panther power as Winston Duke officially pulls on his M'Baku gear for "Black Panther 3", with newcomer David Jonsson joining in on the action.

Set your alarms, because the third iteration of the box-office hit series wowed audiences when it was teased at San Diego Comic-Con, and is set to hit cinemas on Dec. 15, 2028. Not just a new face but also a new generation, Jonsson will embody the spirit of the late Chadwick Boseman by playing T’Challa’s son, Prince T’Challa II.

With a whole lot of trust and faith in Jonsson, Duke shared his thoughts in a conversation with Variety’s Angelique Jackson. “I trust him as an artist. I also trust the people who chose him,” Winston said. “I trust Ryan [Coogler]. I trust the entire MCU executive team. I think it’s going to be great.”

History is a funny thing as "Black Panther" was Duke’s debut in film, and he intends to keep the welcoming torch lit for Jonsson, with good vibes all-round. “How I was greeted and received into this world – which was with a lot of grace, being told it’s a safe space to work, to play - that’s what I wanted to extend to him,” he expressed. “I don’t have any advice. I know what I have to do with him, which is to play with him. I have to trust him. I have to give him the same grace that was extended to me.”

Ryan Coogler will once again be at the helm directing the film following “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. Leticia Wright will also be making a comeback as Shuri. Duke ain’t resting on his laurels though; he will also be flexing as M’Baku in the massively anticipated “Avengers: Doomsday,” dropping on Dec. 18. Keeping up?

Fans just can't seem to get enough of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The “Avengers: Doomsday” trailer has zoomed past the 500-million-view mark since its Monday release!

“The fans’ interest in the future of the MCU is palpable," Duke said. "I think we have their attention because of so much trust that they have for the MCU. We’ve created and delivered so many movies over the years, and it’s never about any one director. It’s about the cohort.”

Just a quick reminder of the first “Black Panther” film’s prowess: it clawed in $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office in 2018 and received seven Oscar nominations, striking gold with three wins. MCU fans, get set for another breathtaking ride!
