Tickle Your Nightmares with ‘American Dollhouse’
- Apr 24, 2026
If you thought the dollhouse of your childhood was cozy, think again! Blue Finch Films jazzes up the horror genre as it acquires the international sales rights to "American Dollhouse." This spooky shocker took flight at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival and is ready to startle potential buyers at the Cannes Film Market. In rolling out this nerve-jangling novelty, Blue Finch Films teams up with Roosevelt Film Lab, a Texas-based film powerhouse.
At the helm of this terrifying tale is John Valley, who applied his cinematic magic to both writing and directing the film. The story meanders around a woman who revisits her childhood home - a move that triggers her neighbor's obsession and unleashes a fatal horror. This blood-curdling masterpiece was cooked up by a team of producers - David Axe, Samuel Butler, and Shane Greb, in concert with Christian Sosa and Jon Wroblewski from Roosevelt Film Lab. Keep an eye out for Hailley Laurén ("My Stretch of Texas Ground”), Kelsey Pribilski ("Man Finds Tape”), Tinus Seaux, Danielle Evon Ploeger, and Richard C. Jones who'll scare the life out of you with their performances!
Negotiations on the behalf of Roosevelt Film Lab were managed by the dynamic duo of Sosa and Wroblewski, while Chapman represented Blue Finch.
An ecstatic Valley shared his hopes for the film, saying, “The dream to devise a story that strips down the idealistic notion of 'home' and 'family,' and front its bare reality under the terrifying lights of a genre film drove me to create 'American Dollhouse.' Showcasing it at Cannes is a golden ticket to rock the global audience with this roller-coaster ride into our darkest fears.”

Wroblewski, an integral force behind Roosevelt Film Lab, couldn’t contain his enthusiasm, “This is just the type of daring, unapologetic film Roosevelt takes pride in endorsing. ‘American Dollhouse’ doesn’t merely spin a chilling horror thriller; it plumbs the awkward depths of suburban existence and the haunting specters of our history.”
After witnessing the audience's exhilarated response at SXSW, Chapman was overjoyed to unveil ‘American Dollhouse’ to Cannes buyers saying, "With two phenomenal performances as its backbone, this boundary-pushing horror film will be an absolute treat for the buyers – a perfect blend of delight and terror.”
"American Dollhouse” joins other entrancing titles like “Bowels of Hell,” “Imposters” and “Dolly” on Blue Finch Films' sales slate. Meanwhile, Roosevelt Film Lab, led by Wroblewski and Sosa, continues to thrive from its base in Austin, Texas.
