Now, about this movie: hanging in the hallowed space between history and memories, 'A Man of His Time' is an ode to Emmanuel Marre's great-grandfather - his life and struggles. We follow the character of Henri Marre, a man of many ambitions, who arrives in Vichy France with a manuscript loaded with political dynamite. As a World War II-era drama, the film scrutinizes the mechanisms of collaboration under the Vichy regime, exposing us to complex human aspects of ambition, morality, and complicity during the darkest periods of history. Certainly, it's a personal canvas for Marre who regards this film as grappling with a chapter of his family past he found hard to swallow.

Known for his spirited dramas, 'A Man of His Time' is Marre’s second feature following his successful drama, 'Zero Fucks Given,' which he co-directed with Julie Lecoustre. The duo made their Cannes debut in 2021 through the Critics’ Week and walked away with the Gan Foundation Award.

So brace yourselves movie-goers - this deeply engaging film is on its way, served up by a platter of international distributors, and promises to be an unforgettable, immersive experience!
