Marvel Blockbuster 'Avengers: Doomsday' Already Registering Thunderous Presales

Disney is taking the term 'doomsday' in stride, spinning it from a herald of disaster to the harbinger of a box office bonanza for Marvel's latest cinematic sorcery, "Avengers: Doomsday." Already making waves, the upcoming Marvel cinematic extravaganza has raked in a whopping $50 million in domestic pre-sales a whole three months ahead of its slated release on December 18.

The major shareholder in this presale bonanza is a new player in town - the premium large format screen, known as 'Infinity Vision.' The studio said that the lion's share of more than 70% of those sales went to these upgrade tickets. Unveiled with much fanfare at CinemaCon, Disney promises 'Infinity Vision' will serve up super-sized, super-bright, and super-immersive silver screen experiences.

Echoing this astounding feat during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference was the Hugh Johnston, Walt Disney Company's Senior Executive VP & Chief Financial Officer. The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, have directed this film that brings together a plethora of Marvel heroes like never before.

Robert Downey Jr. is back from Iron Man/Tony Stark's much-debated demise at the end of "Avengers: Endgame," to play the new Big Bad menace, Victor Von Doom. Chris Evans returns jury-rigging his time machine once more to step back into the boots of Steve Rogers/Captain America. Along for this epic ride are Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Black Panther (Letitia Wright), and a host of others including the Winter Soldier, Loki and Shang-Chi.

Making their first official Marvel Universe appearances are several stars from Fox's X-Men, thanks to Disney's acquisition of the studio. Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellen, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, and Channing Tatum are all set to reprise their iconic mutant roles.

Representing the "Fantastic Four: First Steps" lineup, we have Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, alongside the "Thunderbolts" cast like Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Lewis Pullman, Wyatt Russell, and Hannah John-Kamen.

Marvel's sprint to 'Avengers: Doomsday' is also being documented in their official countdown podcast. The podcast revisits blockbuster hits such as "The Avengers," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Captain America: Civil War," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: Endgame" – all available on Disney+. The final episode would sync nicely with the theater re-release of 'Avengers Endgame: Encore' on September 25, 2026. Doomsday sure seems like a time for celebration!
