Through Encek’s tale, we take an intimate dip into the evolution of life and identity within a Chinese-Indonesian family at key moments in history-the swinging 60s, disco-licious 70s, and tumultuous 98-echoing their national traumas and historical violence in the background.

The film's crew skillfully weaves the fabric of four crucial eras - 1960, 1970, 1998 and 2017 - from humble shop floors to homey interiors. Overseeing this visual narrative is none other than the accomplished Ong Hari Wahyu, alongside avid art buff Edy Wibowo - they were the stars of the 2025 Bandung Film Festival.
