- Apr 20, 2026
If you were eagerly waiting for warmer weather to camp out at the movies, we've got exciting news for you! The perky, fun, and slightly pink "Legally Blonde" is strutting back to big screens across America for its 25th anniversary. Fathom Entertainment teams up with Amazon MGM Studios and Park Circus for the epic nationwide re-release, slated for May 24 and 27. So mark your calendars!
Did we mention the big surprises? Elle Woods herself, Reese Witherspoon, alongside Lexi Minetree, set to play a youthful Elle in the upcoming prequel, will be the cherry on top with a special intro. That's not all; you'll also get an elite preview of the much-anticipated prequel named, you guessed it, "Elle", all set to premiere on Prime Video come July 1.
The 2001 cult favorite, "Legally Blonde", made a statement with its Prada-loving college student, Elle Woods. Driving into Harvard Law School with big dreams (and an ex-boyfriend to win over), Elle unexpectedly stumbled onto her hidden prowess for all things legal. The soon-to-come prequel promises heart-tugs and giggles, unveiling high-school Elle and her journey towards becoming the fierce woman we've come to adore.
"Whether you're a youthful fan or an old-school enthusiast, revisiting this 2001 gem, topped with an exclusive intro from our beloved 'Elle Woods' actresses, is one for the ages," beams Fathom Entertainment CEO Ray Nutt. Hurry up and grab your tickets for this limited engagement!
In other reel-life news, Fathom Entertainment has also secured US theatrical distribution rights for the French docudrama "Sacred Heart." This powerful film harnesses the origins and enduring significance of the Catholic Sacred Heart of Jesus devotion. Brace yourself for June 9–11 and June 14, when the movie hits American theaters for an exclusive limited release.

Directed and produced by genius duo Steven and Sabrina Gunnell of KREA Film-Makers, "Sacred Heart" is a beautifully crafted film offering a mixture of dramatized scenes and profound insights from clergy, historians, and theologians. Enjoy contemporary testimonials that delve deep into the devotion's impact, with screenings available in English-dubbed and Spanish-language versions.
Shining brightly in Europe with nearly a million admissions, the film created a wave in the faith-based space after being released in France back in October 2025. The Gunnells said, "This film is an invitation – an invitation towards divine love." These two continue their faith-inspired storytelling journey inspired by their visit to religious sites including where the historical events occurred, beautifully depicted in their film.
Audiences can anticipate a bonus segment following US screenings, featuring engaging discussions around the modern relevance of the Sacred Heart devotion, all tied to a planned consecration effort by US Catholic bishops coinciding with the film's release time frame.
In yet another blurp of movie magic, Tribeca Studios has announced the winners of its inaugural Vital Stories filmmaker program. The program, designed in partnership with Lilly the medicine company, empowers emerging filmmakers to accurately represent diseases in their content. The winning short films include "Run It Back,” “Do I Know You From Somewhere?,” and “Reconstructing Charlie," promising audiences a captivating portrayal of the human condition.
"Community" icon George Takei is set to be honored with the Champion for Justice Award at the Asian Law Caucus’ 54th Anniversary Gala for his significant contributions in advancing civil rights, social justice, and LGBTQ+ equality. Takei thanked the caucus for their recognition, stating, "I stand with the Asian Law Caucus in the ongoing pursuit of equality, not only for Asian Americans but for all Americans.” Well said, Mr. Takei, and congratulations on the well-deserved honor!
