"So you think Kirsten Dunst is ready to don a cheerleader uniform, form a 'Toro Spirit Fingers Pyramid' and save San Diego's Rancho Carne High School's cheer squad from a sticky wicket one more time? Well, think again. Dunst has profusely said 'nope' to any proposition of resurrecting her role in the cult classic cheerleading comedy, 'Bring It On.'

At her latest movie premiere of 'Roofman,' this Oscar nom reached out to fans and cheer enthusiasts by stating, 'No. I’m like, leave good things where they are.' Adding cheery salt to the wound, she expressed her aversion to sequels, saying, 'I don’t need to put on a cheerleading outfit. Let’s leave it as it is.'

Talk about a full-blown cheer identity crisis, right? Dunst reigned supreme in the 2000 hangover film 'Bring It On' as Torrance Shipman, a feisty high school cheerleading captain who had one sole mission: To lead her team to win the national championships. Despite the movie's universe seeing six straight-to-stream sequels, none of them packed the punch to invite the original cast back in.

Fast forward to the present day, Dunst gathers respect and fame through her versatile roles in Sam Raimi’s 'Spider-Man' trilogy alongside Tobey Maguire and as the French monarch in Sofia Coppola’s historical spectacle, 'Marie Antoinette.' She's recently bashed into the Oscar nominations with Jane Campion’s 'The Power of the Dog.'

Kirsten Dunst Declines Second Trip to Cheer Camp in a 'Bring it On' Sequel

Current days see her under spotlights of the movie set for Derek Cianfrance’s 'Roofman' alongside the famed Channing Tatum. The film unravels the risky life of Jeffrey Manchester, a former U.S. Army Reserve officer with superior wall-hiding abilities in a Toys “R” Us. When asked what compelled her toward this project, Dunst shared her admiration for Derek Cianfrance, “For me, he’s a real actors' director, you know? I love how he capitalises on the realness of characters and storylines."

However, Dunst astounds by expressing her interest in starring in a blockbuster like the 'Minecraft' sequel to rake in some moolah and make something her little munchkins would actually watch. Jokingly she questions, “Maybe I can just make a movie where I don’t lose money?”

So, cheer or no cheer, we're excited to see what Dunst's talent will bring onto the big screen next!
