Pixar's Cosmic Wonder "Elio" isn't letting a tepid box office reception deter it! Instead, it's preparing to whisk away the viewers on an intergalactic ride! This much-anticipated animated delight is set to become available for streaming on Disney+ from September 17, a summer surprise for the home-bound audience.

Enter Elio, our unwitting hero, an underdog kid with an imagination as vast as the cosmos. Just another Earthling one moment, suddenly, he finds himself the centre of attention in the Communiverse, - an interplanetary organization teeming with representatives from every corner of the universe.

Perceived as Earth's diplomat to the vast realms of the universe, Elio, quite taken aback with the colossal pressure, must acquaint himself with some unique and fanciful alien lifeforms. Braving a series of intimidating tribulations, he has to embark on a self-discovery journey of what he is truly destined for.

Now, this interstellar spectacle’s silver screen debut on June 20 may not have been a chartbuster, opening modestly in third place with $21 million collected from around 3,750 theaters. With a historically soft debut for Pixar’s standards, the film wrapped up with $72 million domestically and accrued a total of $153 million worldwide.

Let's tip our hats to Adrian Molina, the decorated screenwriter and co-director of Pixar’s Oscar-winning “Coco,” who took the reins of "Elio." The vision and prodigious effort of directors Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi further shaped the movie. The inclusion of a powerhouse voice cast including the likes of Zoe Saldaña as Elio’s aunt, Olga and Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, amongst others, added to the film's charisma.

Looking ahead, the magic factory that is Pixar, is gearing up to release two more flicks in the coming year. The audience will be treated to the original film “Hoppers” on March 6 and the much-awaited sequel, “Toy Story 5” on June 19.
