Call your friends, pop that popcorn, and slide into your favorite recliner, because the Hill family is back in business! After years of hustling in Saudi Arabia, working a propane gig to fatten up their retirement funds, Hank and Peggy Hill are ready for some old school R&R. They return to their beloved home in Arlene, Texas, which is a far cry from the place they left behind.

Brace yourself, because there are a handful of big surprises! The clan's beloved young Bobby is a grown-up now, boiling, frying, and serving people in Dallas as a sought-after chef. He hangs out with his old mates Connie, Joseph, and Chane, living his 20s to the fullest.

Now, if you're thinking that this reboot is just a slapstick caricature of Southern stereotypes, you couldn't be more mistaken. Yes, it may have changed a bit, but the crux of this Mike Judge comedy remains the same: a family striving to give their best in a topsy-turvy world. The relatable Hills have always been about resilience, warmth, and love - the perfect spicy kick that flavored this classic family sitcom and made it binge-worthy. Today, when reality TV is the talk of the town, the quintessential family sitcom model stands out like a cozy hearth in a blizzard.

After a slightly shaky start, the rebooted version of "King of the Hill", released in 2025, quickly bounces back on track. Some of the mid-season episodes have already earned their place among the best half-hour comedy dishes served this year. So, it's time to cheer, "Long live the King!"

The Hills are Back Town!

Alright, time to let the Texas propane fill you in on some more details. It's been a handful of years since Hank and Peggy left for Saudi Arabia. Now, they're back, and the U.S. they step into isn't exactly Kaput. If you're a little concerned that the series might lean too heavily on old man Hank grumbling about newfangled ways, don't worry. Yes, Hank is a bit of an old-school guy, but his charm lies in his willingness to evolve for the ones he loves the most, Patty and Bobby. Hank might sigh, grumble and huff, but he's always ready to grow!

Speaking of growth, Bobby Hill has gone from being a cuddly, pudgy tween to a full-fledged young adult, complete with a swanky Asian-German fusion restaurant, Robota Chane. His new avatar is engaging, especially as he tries to woo Connie Souphanousinphone in a more grown-up way. It's like tasting a matured wine based on your favorite grape variety - different, but delicious in a whole other way, thanks to Pamela Adlon's brilliance in making Bobby her own.

And of course, the rest of the gang is back too - Dale's paranoia, Bill's hysterics, and Boomhauer's charm are stronger than ever! The season is peppered with comic brilliance like Hank & Bobby's home brewing contest and Hank's secret obsession with soccer. There are sharp twists on sitcom staples that will leave you cackling and others that might even make you tear up a bit.

So buckle up and get ready to welcome back the Hill family, fully remixed and rebooted for our contemporary world, but comforting as always. The sitcom drops its fresh season on Hulu on August 4th, 2025.
