Buckle up, DC Universe fans-it's a wild ride indeed! Adria Arjona, known for her lauded performance in "Andor", is adding a new feather to her superhero cap. She's been officially selected to play Maxima, in the much-anticipated “Superman” sequel, “Man of Tomorrow.”

Previously, the chatter amongst fans chirped how Arjona would impeccably fill Wonder Woman’s boots. The co-chief of DC Studios seemed to concur. However, it looks like the cards had something different (and arguably even better) in store for Arjona, our beloved “Andor” starlet.

Last week, Variety spilled the beans that Arjona joined the fray testing for the weighty role of Maxima-an alien queen who, in comic lore, has played both adversary and possible love interest for Superman. She squared off against final contenders Eva De Dominici from “The Cleaning Lady”, Sydney Chandler of “Alien: Earth”, and “Tell Me Lies” Grace Van Patten. As per reports, a deal was close to being struck, with the movie's rolling cameras in Atlanta ready to capture the magic as production took off. (Circling your calendars-The DC movie is slated to hit theaters on July 9, 2027.)

In “Superman: Man of Tomorrow,” a brainchild of writer-director James Gunn, we welcome back David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult reprising their roles as the Man of Steel and Lex Luthor, respectively. The twist in the tale arrives when these archenemies find themselves compelled to unite against an even greater nemesis, the genius villain Brainiac, brought to life by German star Lars Eidinger. The stellar cast ensemble features notable names like Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and many more.

The DC Universe just got even more intriguing with the news that Arjona's boyfriend, Jason Momoa, known for his role as Aquaman, is now shifting gear to portray the anti-hero Lobo in “Supergirl,” hitting the silver screen on June 26.

With a string of achievements under her utility belt-like performances in “Hit Man,” “Splitsville,” “Father of the Bride,” and “Blink Twice”-Arjona is ready to conquer new horizons. Up next, we'll see her sharing the screen with powerhouse Michael B. Jordan for the “Thomas Crown Affair” remake under the Amazon MGM Studios banner. Arjona is skillfully managed by CAA, Anonymous Content, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Goodman Genow.

It was The Hollywood Reporter confirming first that Arjona snagged the prized role of Maxima. However, the lips are sealed at DC Studios when it comes to commenting on the casting.
