"The Odyssey Teaser" Sneak Peek Escapes Into the Wild
- Jul 7, 2025
Inquisitive eyes around the globe have gotten a sneaky taste of what's to come from famed director Christopher Nolan with the online leakage of a teaser for his latest film, "The Odyssey". The promo was initially unveiled in cinemas exclusively as a savory morsel included in the serving of Universal's "Jurassic World Rebirth."
While some might see the leak as a slip, it's almost tradition at this point. Remember when footage from high-octane movies like "Spider-Man: No Way Home" or addictive series like "House of Dragon" slipped into the realms of the interweb? And who can forget the notorious incident with the final season of "Game of Thrones"? In the light of these incidents, it seems "The Odyssey" is merely following a popular trend. Variety reportedly reached out to Universal for an official response on the matter.
The teaser itself is a juicy bait, lasting just over a minute. It introduces us to Matt Damon's character Odysseus, his son Telemachus, portrayed by everyone's favorite Spider-Man - Tom Holland, along with a surprise character brought to life by Jon Bernthal. The enticing dialogue is delivered against a backdrop of lush imagery, starting with a presumed narration by Robert Pattinson.

As Pattinson's voiceover sets the scene for the grand adventure with lines like, "Darkness. Zeus’ laws smashed to pieces. A kingdom without a king since my master died," we're treated with mysterious sights like dark blue crashing waves and a distinct silhouette of the legendary Trojan Horse - a pivotal plot point hinting at Odysseus’ epic journey.
The teaser also features a healthy dose of suspense with a scene where Bernthal's character admits his ignorance about Odysseus' whereabouts to Telemachus, kickstarting the son’s quest to uncover his father’s fate. Just when the suspense picks up, the whites of "One Year From Now" flash across the black screen, reminding us of the agonizing wait ahead. The teaser concludes with the movie title and an encoded release date sure to be decrypted by eagle-eyed fans in no time.
The film boasts an all-star cast, including Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, and Cosmo Jarvis. The teaser ends on a high note, revealing that our hero Odysseus has been stranded out at sea. It's safe to say that this cinematic train ride promises to be as thrilling as the ones Nolan has taken us on in the past. Official online release of the teaser is expected to follow later in the year.
