Scarlett Johansson Possibly Donning a Cape for "The Batman Part II"
- Dec 11, 2025
In a tantalizing taster for movie fans, we may soon see Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson swooping into Gotham city in a possible role in “The Batman Part II,” sharing the spotlight with Robert Pattinson's indomitable Caped Crusader. So, Bat-Signal on folks!
The sequel is a product of the DC Studios wonder-mill, masterminded by the talented director Matt Reeves, who expects to kick-off shooting as the daisies begin blossoming next spring. The premiere is penciled in Warner Bros’ roster for October 2027. The first installment of “The Batman" reached cinemas in March 2022, carving a huge $772 million chunk into the global box office sales. Believe it or not, Reeves, along with his script-siding cohort Mattson Tomlin, wrapped up the script for this eagerly-awaited sequel by the swimwear season of June.
Reeves, in a chat with Variety during the September Emmys, couldn’t contain his excitement amongst the glitzy guests. “It’s been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I’m really proud of the script me and Mattson did," beamed Reeves. Apparently protective of his intellectual baby, Reeves confessed to having kept the script in a "secret pouch," secured with a lock and code, as elusive as the Bat-Cave itself!
Sadly, cat-lovers may be disheartened, as insider sources suggest that Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman will not be reprising her feline antics in the sequel.

As for Johansson’s role, it’s still as enigmatic as The Riddler’s puzzles. However, landing a role in “The Batman Part II” would add another feather to her franchise cap, with previous gigs including blockbusters like “Jurassic World Rebirth”-a dino-mite success, grossing over $800 million. Up next, she’s tackling demonic forces in the rebooted version of “The Exorcist” (Now that sounds exorc-iting!).
Most noteworthy though, Johansson's potential jump to the Batman sequel would signify an adventurous trek from Marvel’s Avengers base, where she donned the high-tech suit of Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, to the bustling action factory of DC heroes.
Outside the frenetic world of franchises, the twice-Oscar-nominated Johansson has been keeping herself occupied with directing her debut drama, “Eleanor the Great," launched at the renowned Cannes Film Festival and released through Sony Pictures Classics. She's soon to lead the cast of James Gray's upcoming feature, “Paper Tiger.” ScarJo fans, you heard it here, courtesy of the information highway's Nexus Point News. The stars may align yet for Johansson in the next “Batman” sequel. As for official confirmation? DC Studios remains as silent as Bruce Wayne's alter-ego. Stay tuned on this frequency, Bat-fans!
