Guess what horror fans? Your beloved franchise, "Paranormal Activity" is staging a comeback! Prepping to spook audiences anew, a brand-new installment is in works, thanks to a joint venture of Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster. This exhilarating news comes as the series continues to build upon its impressive $900 million lifetime gross.

Don't worry, we aren't revealing too much yet. What we do know is that plot specifics wouldn't be shared, rather, they remain a spine-chilling secret kept close to the vest. The only thing we can say? The project has been fast-tracked for development, so be on high-alert!

James Wan, the brains behind the spine-chilling “The Conjuring” franchise, joins the team as a producer, collaborating with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster. The creator of the original “Paranormal Activity,” Oren Peli, will be working under the banner of Solana Films.

Wan shared his admiration and excitement, saying, “Since the brilliant first movie, I’ve been a massive fan of ‘Paranormal Activity!’ The subtle ability to unnerve audiences with the unseen… pure genius! So here I am, ready to build on its legacy and evolve this frightening found footage franchise.”

It's a homecoming for Jason Blum, who is returning as producer, alongside Steven Schneider, executive producing for Room 101, Inc. Blissed out about this project, Blum said, “Creating a new pulse-racing chapter of the franchise that put Blumhouse on the map with James… it's as thrilling as we expected when we linked up with Atomic Monster. We will commit much more than the $15,000 spent on the first flick, but one rule never changes. Don't watch it alone!”

The hair-raising journey of "Paranormal Activity" originated with its debut in 2007, which earned a jaw-dropping $194 million globally. The rollercoaster ride was not over, as the franchise went on to release seven additional films, including “The Marked Ones,” “The Ghost Dimension” and the latest, "Next of Kin".

Co-chairs at Paramount Pictures, Josh Greenstein, and Dana Goldberg, expressed great excitement over this development. “Having visionary talents like James and Jason light up the ‘Paranormal Activity’ universe is a delight. Jason has transformed the series into a worldwide phenomenon, and coupling that with James's taste for unique storytelling, sets up an enthralling new chapter”.

However, the thrills don't stop there. There's more talent on the horizon, including Michael Clear and Judson Scott serving as executive producers for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, with Alayna Glasthal holding the reins of executive oversight.

Be ready, brave hearts! This news comes via The Hollywood Reporter, and as we await more bone-chilling updates, remember to sleep with one eye open!
