Well, if you've been keeping tabs on Hollywood, you might want to brace yourself for this scoop! Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, known for his roles as macho brutes and powerhouse of strength, is trading in his iconic muscular avatar for a surprising new role - hold your breath - a 70-years-young man known affectionately as the ‘Chicken Man’!

Spotted on the scene in Brooklyn, Johnson was caught in action, filming for Benny Safdie's upcoming movie 'Lizard Music'. Remember him from Uncut Gem and The Smashing Machine? Well folks, this collaboration promises to be just as noteworthy.

This time, Johnson isn't just a beefy MMA titan - he's been physically transformed using impressive prosthetics into the older, intriguing character. Picture this- a generous coat, a tan bucket hat, and would you believe it? A pizza slice in hand!

Joining him on this interesting venture is young co-star Theo Clark Leber, who was photographed strolling alongside Johnson, nearly dwarfed by his enormous plushie lizard adornment. The magical mastermind behind Johnson's transformation is renowned artist Kazu Hiro, recognized for his aging transformation of Tom Cruise in “Digger.”

The film 'Lizard Music' is a cinematic adaption of Daniel Pinkwater’s popular children's book by the same name. It charts the journey of a young lad who encounters unusual reptilian musicians on nocturnal television, leading him to befriend our strangely endearing Chicken Man, played by Johnson. This star-studded affair will feature other big names such as Rachel McAdams, Colman Domingo, David Krumholtz, Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone and Regina Hall.

Here comes the best part - 'Lizard Music' cleared for landing just in time for Christmas Day 2027 by Amazon MGM Studios. Imagine unwrapping that holiday joy!

Dwayne Johnson, during his 2025 Toronto Film Festival career retrospective, shared it didn't take him much convincing to hop onboard this exciting project. It seems he was sold in “about 45 minutes” - talk about enthusiasm!

What's more, Johnson spilled the beans that he had to shed a whopping 30 pounds of muscle to fully embody the Chicken Man character. "I’m so excited to get a chance to hopefully transform again like I was able to do in ‘Smashing Machine’," he shared, adding humorously, "[It means] eating less chicken."

So, next time you envision Johnson, it won't be as a Herculean hunk flexing his biceps. Perhaps you'll think about the old, pizza-loving Chicken Man instead!
