Brace yourselves for a shopping trip you won't soon forget! Adam Cesare, the mind who gave us spine-chilling thrills in "Clown in a Cornfield," is seeing his Dark Horse imprint comic series "Dead Mall" make a daring leap from ink and paper to the silver screen.

Joining forces with Not the Funeral Home, the pits and crevices of Cesare's wicked imagination are set to come to life. The four-issue series has been scooped up by the innovative production company for a feature film adaptation that is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat!

Whipping up the script for this eerie escapade is none other than Michael Varrati ('The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula,' 'Fangoria Chainsaw Awards'). Rumor has it; he's not only cherry-picking from the original script but also delving deep into Cesare's raw and uncharted story notes. "We're talking previously unseen material, folks!" said an inside source.

According to the official whisperings, 'Dead Mall' chronicles a harrowing adventure of five daring teens. They steal into their local shopping centre, seeking one last hurrah before the wrecking ball swings. But they soon learn, this mall isn't ready to shut its doors. The shell of what was once a thriving temple of consumerism now plays host to a terrifying, ever-morphing cosmic horror. It’s safe to say, their usual food court hangouts have taken on a nightmare quality.

"Think a mind-bending cocktail of 'Event Horizon' blended with 'Hellraiser', but you know, in a mall," quipped Matt Manjourides, one-half of the dynamic duo that founded Not The Funeral Home. His partner in scary films, Justin Martell, added, "We can't wait to tear the roof off with Adam on this project."

The production house is no virgin when it comes to dishing out a blood-curdling romp. They've previously turned heads and curdled blood with creations like "The Last Drive In With Joe Bob Briggs," "Street Trash," "Black Eyed Susan," and a host of Shudder original movies.

Waiting eagerly for another Adam Cesare classic are fans of his nightmarish 'Clown in a Cornfield' novels, which burst into cinematic life under the mastery of Eli Craig in 2025. Hold onto those popcorn buckets tight because 'Dead Mall' promises shopping horrors like you've never seen.
