But by the final episode, he's learned to treasure those very feelings, seeing them as the edge he needs to triumph over a seemingly superior adversary", Ceesay explained. He further noted that the clash between Kirsh and Morrow is emblematic of the all-too-real struggle between humans and the encroaching wave of technology. If humanity fails to match the unwavering belief that Morrow holds, humans might as well step aside and let robots take the stage.

Complementing Morrow's transformation, Wendy embarks on a contrasting yet equally riveting journey. From a nervous, human-like demeanor at the outset, she evolves into a calm and stoic being, toying with her mechanical side. “Just like Wendy, I had to grow through the series, altering my performances as Wendy embraced her synthetic self,” Chandler mused. Wendy’s evolution climaxes when she, along with her hybrid siblings, confront their creator Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin) after breaking free from confinement.

Chandler and Ceesay reveal that the show's practical sets provided unique insights into their characters. Ceesay, for instance, noted that a tight glove mimicking Morrow's low-tech robotic arm helped him resonate with the cyborg's internal conflict. Chandler noticed a similar phenomenon as she felt that tackling physical props enhanced her acting abilities in a way CGI couldn't achieve.
